There are literally hundreds of different team building activities that can be used to produce a given outcome. Each of them has their relative merits and limits. There are a multitude of factors that affect the choice: attendee numbers; their level of familiarity; their experience and skills; the goals for the team building day; the weather; the personalities of those involved, and so many more. The Marketing Company will help you plan which activity will suit your needs the best. Below are some of the more popular activities to get you started:

Biohazard

• This activity involves the whole team in planning and delivering on the right strategy to remove a biohazard from a designated area. It involves teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills. Can work indoors but is best run outside.

Escape from Devil’s Island

• This exercise develops trust and communication. Partners will guide their blindfolded partner across an obstacle course using only their words to guide them. Like the Biohazard this is best run outside but can be done indoors.

The Eight Foot Challenge

• Teams must work together to design and build a suitable package to protect a raw egg from breaking from a fall of eight feet. Depending on the skills of the group, different materials can be provided or removed! This exercise involves teamwork, communication and problem-solving. It can also be altered to include a ‘sales pitch/advertorial element’ for sales and marketing teams. Can be done indoors or outside.

The Helium Stick

• This is an exercise which is designed to demonstrate how to communicate and work together as a team. The task is simple: a long, thin rod is placed across the tops of the index fingers of the team. The goal is to lower the rod to the ground. Sounds easy doesn’t it? Well we’ll see…! Ideal for indoors.

The Many Headed Juggler

• This group juggling exercise is an excellent way to begin an event as it gets the participants to work physically as a team and involves a real sense of achievement by the end. It also works well to enliven a group after lunch or to bring a day’s activities to a close with everyone working together. Depending on the skill levels, can be indoors or outside.
